• Which operating system does XCLASS support?

    Please note that XCLASS Wifi also support Android and IOS on student side, while the teacher OS is Windows.

  • Does the XCLASS Teacher and Student program support run in cross platform operating systems?

    However, it does not guarantee that the XCLASS software can run smoothly on different OS as it depends on networking environment.
  • Is the XCLASS program required to run with any network server e.g. Novell?

    No. The XCLASS program is not required to run with any network server
  • Is there any external hardware required like a video capturing device?

    No. XCLASS does not require any external hardware for support. XCLASS is purely software based. The entire functions are fully supported just by XCLASS software.
  • Will XCLASS program affect your local network traffic and performance?

    All XCLASS computers link up in a LAN environment. When the teacher conducts a lesson, video or audio teaching materials can be sent to students; Students can also return their class work to teacher. XCLASS is a proven solution to classroom management.
  • How to improve the performance of XCLASS?

    It is highly recommended that the use of high quality and stabilized switch instead of hub is very important for the connection of teacher and student computers. In case of XCLASS Wi-Fi, please use a separate Wi-Fi dedicated only to XCLASS PCs/tablets.
  • What kind of network protocol is supported in student and teacher computer for the XCLASS program?

    Only TCP/IP Protocol is supported. Each student and teacher computer must have a unique IP address. Consult with the Network Administrator to verify that the IP addresses you intended to use will not interfere with other system components. The teacher and student PCs can ping each other.
  • What is the monitor setting requirement for the XCLASS Teacher and Student program?

    The XCLASS Teacher program can support single or dual monitors. The required monitor resolutions and colour settings are 1920x1080 pixels with 16-bit true colour (recommended) or 800x600 pixels with 16-bit true colour. The XCLASS Student program is designed for single monitor only. The required monitor resolutions and colour settings are 1920x1080 pixels with 16-bit true colour (recommended) or 800x600 pixels with 16-bit true colour. The teacher and student monitor resolutions and colour settings must be set up the same in order to function properly.
  • What is the security and license control for the XCLASS?

    We are using a hardware key(dongle) for the XCLASS license control that should be attached to the teacher computer's parallel port or USB port when XCLASS Teacher program starts running. The teacher has to plug in the dongle every time they start the XCLASS program in order to connect to all the students.
  • How can I fine tune the sound level and adjust the sound card settings for the XCLASS audio functions?

    For properly running the XCLASS audio functions, it is highly recommended to use AC'97 sound chip or Sound Blaster® compatible full duplex sound card and good quality microphones, headsets or speakers for both teacher and students. It is noted that it is very important to adjust the sound card volume settings for both teacher and student computers.
  • How to choose the proper Interface card?

    Some PCs may have virtual machine installed and there may be more than one network interface card. At the time of installation, choose the correct interface card from InterfaceSelection.exe
  • Can the sound card of student PC be different from that of teacher PC?

    No. The sound cards in the student PCs should be same as the teacher PC. In short, all the PCs running XCLASS program should have same sound cards.
  • The software is unable to open after upgrade on teacher and student programs?

    If our team has sent the upgraded version of software, before you install the upgraded software in teacher or student PCs, please uninstall the existing version of software in the PC. This helps to avoid all the clumsiness and helps to run the software smoothly.
  • Can teacher start XCLASS on all student PCs remotely?

    Yes. Once the student program is installed in all the student PCs and are connected to teacher, the XCLASS program running on teacher PC has entire PC power management (login/log off/restart/ shutdown) of all the student PCs.
  • What is the procedure if my dongle is lost?

    According to our company’s policy, when the dongle has been lost, Sun-Tech will not replace it for free and it is clearly stated in our license agreement. Please understand that Sun-Tech has no responsibility or obligation in the replacement of the dongle or the software products licensed for use as it is customer’s responsibility to protect the dongle adequately and secure it against loss and disappearance. Hence, we regret to say that we are not able to replace the dongle for free and the licenses would have to be purchased again.
  • Why software updates are necessary?

    SunTech is a Microsoft certified partner. So whenever Microsoft releases Windows update packages, our software has to be updated as well. There may be cases, where software cannot deliver high performance or some features may not work since the software was not updated after a Windows update package.
  • How is XCLASS quality assured?

  • How can I keep my software up to date?

    With every update of XCLASS, SunTech offers an improved performance, more user friendly UI and additional features. The update ensures that all the features of XCLASS marks up to standard of Microsoft windows update and avoid unnecessary bugs thereafter.   • Which operating system does DLL support?

  • Does DLL require any external capture device?

    DLL needs external capture device for the purpose of live teaching session.
  • What is the security and license control for the DLL?

    We are using a hardware key(dongle) for the DLL license control that should be attached to the teacher computer's parallel port or USB port when DLL Teacher program starts running. The teacher has to plugin the dongle everytime they start the DLL program in order to connect to all the students.
    The trial DLL installer can support upto 4 students for 60 days.
  • Can teacher open DLL on all students?

    When XCLASS is installed in teacher PC, there is an option to open DLL on all student’s PC from teacher PC
  • Can teacher transfer file through DLL?

    The teacher can send files to students either in the teaching mode or while switching to self-learning mode.
  • Can the quiz play AV files?

    Yes the quiz has the feature to edit a video and set a question for that stream. The student can either choose the answer from the option available or he can record and send his answers too.
    The quiz has auto reporting and marking tool.
  • Can teacher collect students’ recordings for reference?

    Yes the teacher can collect all students’ recordings and use it for later reference. The teacher can also monitor any student’s recording on live by using monitor button in chat room window.
  • Starting DLL gives the error message "Cannot find audio card!"

    1. Make sure at least a sound card is available and appropriate driver is installed correctly.
    2. The DirectX components have been installed correctly.
  • Clicking Record button does not record anything.

    1. Make sure your sound card is AC'97 or Creative PCI Sound compatible or SUN-TECH Audio Box ST-AB 203.
    2. The DirectX 9.0 or above has been installed.
    3. Complete and verify the DLL system settings.
    4. Make sure that appropriate recording source channel for the sound card is selected on both Teacher and Student side when Record button is clicked.
    5. Confirm the correct and updated sound card driver is installed.
    6. Make sure that your microphone is connected correctly.
  • No waveform is generated after opening a file or recording.

    Make sure the default directory for temporary files, C:\Temp has sufficient free disk space and allowed the logged-in account to write file in it. You may change the default directory in the System Setting window or dll.ini.
  • Capture function fails to get external AV signal.

    1. Make sure the capturing device is installed and updated driver has been used.
    2. The capturing device includes a WDM driver.
    3. The DirectX 9.0 or above has been installed.
    4. The external AV source input and cabling has been well connected.
    5. Check the DLL system settings
  • Cannot open a media file

    DLL supports the following file formats:
       Audio file: wav, mp3, wma;
       Video file: mpg, mpeg, dat, avi, wmv;
       Project file: dlp
  • Cannot transfer files to students after switching from Teacher to Self-Learning mode.

    Change "TransPackSize" value in dll.ini to "8"
